In recent years, on Camp Pendleton, San Diego County, California, one or
more pairs of Least Bell's Vireos (Vireo bellii pusillus), a state and
federal endangered species in southern California, were found nesting at
edge [sic] of runway on the base, apparently suffering no ill effects
from the noise. You should contact the base biologist for further
information (John Griffiths, Camp Pendleton).
