in New Zealand. Les has compiled a series of seven cassettes featuring
recordings of virtually all species and subspecies of birds found in New
Zealand. He is now turning his attention to the South Pacific region,
particularly Fiji, Tonga, American Samoa, French Polynesia and New
Caledonia. If you have sound recordings of birds from these or other
South Pacific localities, or know of individuals or institutions who do,
Les would like to hear from you. He is already in contact with the
Library of Natural Sounds, Cornell, but any other contacts would be
welcome.
