I can send you a 1989 Fish and Wildlife Service publication on the
status of the least bittern in the Upper Midwest if you give me your
address. Also, Dr. Leigh Fredrickson, Gaylord Memorial Lab,
University of Missouri, Puxico, MO 63960 (573-222-3531; email
gmlwww@pop.missouri.edu) has been studying the least bittern at Mingo
National Wildlife Refuge in MO for the last few years. And, I think
there is a Birds of North America species account available on the
species.
