The progression of migration marches on. Mike Carlson had a Louisiana
Waterthrush in Tildon*s Woods at Point Pelee on April 1st. Five Forster*s
Terns were at Hillman Marsh north of Point Pelee today. A very early
Osprey was at the Lost Peninsula in Monroe County by Kevin Thomas
and Adam Byrne on March 31st. Two White-fronted Geese and two
Short-eared Owls were highlights of birds at Point Mouillee on March
31st. A Little Gull was seen in the St. John*s Marsh area on Anchor Bay
Road in St. Clair County on Tuesday. Long-eared Owls are still being
seen at Lake Erie Metro Park, Wayne County on the Nature Trail as March
31st where they have been for over six weeks. Fifteen Lapland
Longspurs were seen on Strieter Road in Washtenaw County on March
31st. Forty Lapland Longspurs were at Shiawassee Refuge, Saginaw
County on the same date. The expected adult Lesser Black-backed Gull
was at Bay City State Park on March 31st along with an adult Glaucous
Gull. Two Barred Owls were calling on Frajole Road south of M-61 on
March 31st. Tom Beachy had 33 Red-shouldered Hawks migrating by in
one hour at Caseville in Huron County on Saginaw Bay on March 31st
along with 11 Sharp-shinned Hawks and three Rough-legged Hawks.
Migrants are showing up at Whitefish Point including Woodcock, Snipe
and Tree Swallow on March 30th. Redpolls and Bohemian Waxwings are
still being seen there.

There will be a field trip to Crane Creek, Ohio on Saturday, April 3rd lead
by Karl Overman. Meet at the parking lot at Crane Creek at 8 am.
