This is the Chicago Audubon Society bird report for Wednesday,
March 31st at 11:00AM.
A ROSS'S GOOSE was seen this morning with CANADA GEESE just
west of the north bridge at Wooded Island. The WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE was still at Wooded Island's East Lagoon this morning,
and three VESPER SPARROWS were also there today. Seen at
Wooded Island yesterday were SNOW GOOSE, eight PHOEBES, six
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS and 10 FOX SPARROWS.
A WESTERN GREBE and HARLEQUIN DUCK were seen Sunday between
51st Street and 47th Street.
On Tuesday a LE CONTE'S SPARROW was reported from the Lincoln
Park Bird Sanctuary and a SHORT-EARED OWL was at Montrose.
17 TURKEY VULTURES and a BALD EAGLE were seen Tuesday over
Brookfield Zoo.
A RED-THROATED LOON was seen last weekend with 23 COMMON LOONS
on Pistakee Lake at the end of Eagle Point Drive off of Route 12.
PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were seen last weekend in several locations.
An adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was at Gillson Park on Sunday.
