Oklahoma Rare Bird Alert, Tuesday morning, March 30.
LEWIS' WOODPECKER, Mar 28, Rogers County
INCA DOVE, Jackson County
The LEWIS' WOODPECKER, seen regularly at the residence of Bill Luster in
rural Rogers County, continues to be seen. The last date recorded was
Sunday, Mar 28. If interested in looking for the woodpecker, which is
just northeast of the town of Collinsville, contact Luster at
918-371-7321.
INCA DOVES are being seen regularly in the town of Eldorado in Jackson
County. For information, contact Jimmy Woodard at 405-324-1462.
The PYRRHULOXIA seen at the Lyons residence in Oklahoma City, has not
been seen since Mar 22. We have no reports of the YELLOW-BILLED LOON,
also in Oklahoma City, which was last seen Mar 22. Nor do we have any
reports on the SANDHILL CRANE or CINNAMON TEAL seen in Tulsa County on
MAr 24. We assume all of these birds have gone.
That is our report for today. This rare bird alert is sponsored by the
Oxley Nature Center of Tulsa and the Oklahoma Ornithological Society. If
you have a message to leave, wait for the tone. Don't forget to leave
your name and telephone number. Thanks for calling.
