This is the Sunday, March 21st, update of Big Country birding news,
sponsored by the Big Country Audubon Society.

A PEREGRINE FALCON (Falco peregrinus) was seen today, the 21st, at the
Abilene wastewater treatment plant near Hamby in Jones County. Also
seen were 12 CINNAMON TEAL (Anas cyanoptera), 2 EARED GREBES (Podiceps
nigricollis), 1 SNOW GOOSE (Chen caerulescens) and large numbers of
NORTHERN SHOVELERS (Anas clypeata) and RUDDY DUCK (Oxyura jamaicensis).

On Saturday the 20th, a BALD EAGLE (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) was seen
at Clyde Lake in Callahan County. Also on Saturday, an AMERICAN AVOCET
(Recurvirostra americana) and an EARED GREBE (Podiceps nigricollis) were
seen at Baird Lake in Callahan County and a VERDIN (Auriparus flaviceps)
and 125 AM AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) were seen
at Kirby Lake in Abilene.

A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER (Mniotilta varia) was reported from Hawley in
Jones County on the 19th.
