On the 17th in the southeast in Marion County, two first year THAYER'S GULLS
were observed along the north shore of the Red Rock Reservoir . In Louisa
County at Cone Marsh, there were 20 TUNDRA SWANS, and among the four species
of geese there were 15 ROSS'S GEESE. In Johnson County, the female OLDSQUAW
was still on the Iowa River at Iowa City near the UI Art Museum.
The COMMON CRANE was still being seen today in Kearny County, Nebraska.
A SMEW was found today in Jackson County, Minnesota, which is just over the
Iowa border.
