On the 16th in Jefferson County, a PRAIRIE FALCON was a flyby along county
road W-21 a mile north of Fairfield near the reservoir. In the southwest in
Fremont County, among the raptors and other birds flying over Waubonsie
State Park were two NORTHERN GOSHAWKS and a flock of 75 WHITE PELICANS. In
the northeast in Allamakee County, late in the day on the 14th and 15th,
five SHORT-EARED OWLS were observed a third to a half mile north of Army
Road which runs east from New Albin. This location is right on the Minnesota
border.

In news received the 15th, in the central in Hamilton County, two TRUMPETER
SWANS were on a small marsh a mile north of Bjorkaboda Marsh. In Polk
County, Jane Clark was still seeing the BROWN THRASHER in her yard at Clive
as of the 13th.
