The COMMON CRANE in Buffalo County Nebraska was seen again on the 11th.
In news received the 11th, from the northwest in Emmet County, a SHORT-EARED
OWL was seen in a field which is four miles north of Gruver. In Monona
County, a TRUMPETER SWAN was observed in a borrow pit at exit 105 of I-29 on
the 7th. In Palo Alto County, a NORTHERN SHRIKE was spotted at Dewey's
Pasture, while an early LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was seen about ten miles away.
In the northeast in Butler County, the NORTHERN FLICKER hybrid between RED
and YELLOW-SHAFTED varieties is still being seen at the Nature Center in
Heery Woods near Clarksville.
In the southeast in Louisa County, there were eight adult SWANS, of which
seven were TUNDRA, and the other was possibly a TRUMPETER, seen from the
east side of Cone Marsh.
